Four-Strand Fan-Shaped Strand Steel Wire Rope

Four-Strand Fan-Shaped Strand Steel Wire Rope is a special construction within our steel wire rope range. It consists of four fan-shaped strands laid around a combined fiber core. Compared with conventional round-strand rope, the shaped strands create a larger contact area between adjacent strands and between the rope and drum, helping distribute contact pressure more evenly during repeated winding and heavy-load operation.

Aogang supplies 4V×39S+5FC and 4V×48S+5FC constructions in diameters from 16 mm to 40 mm, with tensile strength grades from 1570 MPa to 1960 MPa. Bright and hot-dip galvanized surfaces are available for mine hoisting, counterweight systems, port handling equipment and other industrial lifting applications.

This Four-Strand Fan-Shaped Strand Steel Wire Rope is a special-purpose construction. It should not be used as a direct replacement for conventional round-strand or multi-strand rotation-resistant rope based on diameter alone. Load, lifting height, drum dimensions, reeving arrangement, operating cycle and permitted load rotation must be checked before selection.

Core Structural Process Features

Strand body structure: Four-strand one-piece fan-shaped special-shaped cross-section surrounding arrangement, different from conventional round strand steel wire rope, with large fitting area between strands and extremely strong integrity

Stress form: Line contact pressure bearing inside the strand, approximate surface contact with the drum surface outside the strand, small contact stress, wear-resistant and extrusion-resistant.

Twisting process: Precise interactive twisting process, offsetting the torsional stress of the rope body, inherently anti-twist, not easy to twist and knot, suitable for long-distance vertical lifting.

4V×39S or 4V×48S: What Should You Select?

The difference between 4V×39S and 4V×48S is not limited to the number of wires. Their internal wire arrangements affect flexibility, outer-wire contact, fatigue performance and resistance to drum crushing.

Selection should be based on:

FAQ

What is the difference between 4V×39S and 4V×48S?

They have different internal wire arrangements and wire counts. These differences affect flexibility, fatigue resistance, external wear and resistance to radial pressure. The construction should be selected according to the lifting equipment rather than diameter alone.

Can this rope directly replace a conventional round-strand wire rope?

Not without technical confirmation. The contact pattern, metallic area, breaking force, rotational characteristics and drum compatibility may be different.

Is Four-Strand Fan-Shaped Strand Steel Wire Rope non-rotating?

It can provide controlled residual torque under suitable conditions, but it should not automatically be classified as a non-rotating rope for every lifting system. Free-hanging and rotation-sensitive loads require a specific engineering review.

Should I select a bright or galvanized surface?

Bright rope is suitable for controlled environments with appropriate lubrication and maintenance. Hot-dip galvanized rope should be considered for underground humidity, water exposure or corrosive outdoor conditions.

Can you supply a fixed rope length?

Yes. Please provide the working length, installation allowance, end connection and permitted length tolerance.

Is the rope diameter enough for a quotation?

No. Construction, strength, core, lay direction, surface, length and operating conditions are also required.
